Q: Is Retin A Cream or Retin A Micro Gel better for wrinkles?
I have fine line under my eyes that i want to get rid of. Which product would be better. My doctor prescribed me Retin A Gel .025%..But i've been reading that the cream form is better for wrinkles. Also i know that Retin A Micro Gel is more like a cream then a gel. What's the difference between them? Which would be better?
A: I'd probably just go with whatever your Doctor prescribed.
Q: On wk 4 of Retin-A Micro gel .04% & my skin has barely cleared from the intial breakout, should I stop usage?
I started breaking out around the 2nd week & it hasn't really cleared up since. The breakouts are extremely red and result in new whiteheads almost every morning (on both sides of cheeks mainly). The skin where it's red looks slightly red and almost tender to the touch. Compared to what I have now, my skin used to be crystal clear! Should I stick it out & is it hopeful this breakout will clear up along with red marks? I feel like crying & never want to leave the house, not even for class.
sorry, the skin where it's red looks slightly RAISED*
A: Wait until you have been using it for 6 weeks and if there still isn't an improvement, go to your doctor. It may be better than you think and should continue with the treatment or you may need to switch products. It usually takes about a year of treatment before skin is completely clear. Make sure you follow all of the instructions from the doctor. Do not touch any pimples no matter what. Discuss what makeup you can use, what kind of cleanser and moisturizer. All of these things are important. AND don't use any dryer sheets or fabric softener on your sheets or washcloths.
Q: I've been prescribed, retin a micro gel, and brevoxyl 4 cream creamy wash, will these things work?
Will they work fast, and what are the side affect?
A: They will work they will just leave your skin dry. Therefore, you only want to apply to the areas that you have a problem with. Be careful when you dry yourself because it will bleach your towels. If you use it at bedtime it will bleach your pajamas and pillowcase.
Q: Retin a micro?
I've been using retin a micro gel 0.04% for two and a half weeks now. I went through the side effects and breaking out more initially during the first week and a half. Now it's pretty clear. By the third week will I break out again just like what leaflet says?
Thanks
A: I didnt. I broke out the first week and that was it.
Q: Retin A Micro Pump or Gel?
I was going to get retin a micro gel soon, but I heard they released a pump. What is the difference and which one is better for acne and scarring.
Which one would be more effective?
A: I just started using retin a micro pump about a week ago. I am still peeling and breaking out more than usual. But at the same time I am seeing really good results. I say go with the pump and give it a try, it won't hurt. You just have to be patient.
Q: Alternative for Retin-A micro gel for acne?
Is there a cheaper over the counter version of the retin a micro gel dermatologists prescribe for acne? Retin-a is a cream that helps absorb oil so if you have never used the prescription kind have you had any good experience with any other oil absorbing cream? Thank you!!
I'm sorry I meant I need something I can get without a prescription.
A: There is a generic for regular Retin-A cream/gel. It is significantly cheaper.
Q: help with retin-a micro gel and acne.?
I developed mild to moderate acne a little over a year ago. The first thing I tried was Proactiv but I received no results and excessive drying. After unsuccessful results I visted the derma and was prescribed a combo of Finacea Gel and Tetracycline antibiotics. I was instructed to take the antibiotics twice a day, and morning and night use a mild non comedogenic face wash, followed by an application of Finacea Gel and then finally a non comedogenic moisturizer. For about four months this all worked and my acne cleared up completely. Then it came back. After visiting the dermatologist again, I was prescribed minocycline as an antibiotic and instructed to use the Finacea gel in the morning only and at night apply retin-a micro gel. While the retin-a micro gel has improved my acne, my skin is so dry, flakey and red. Its painful. I've been on this for two months. I use moisturizer. Nothing helps. Any suggestion? Homemade remedies? Success stories?
A: I have severe acne. So I know exactly what you are going through. This is my favorite website : www.SilkyScents.com. They have an essential oil blend that is made for acne. I've personally used it. It's oily on your face, but it really works. And for the scars, they have this free recipe. It really works to get rid of the scars. I scar easily so I would know lol. Anyways, it takes some time. It won't go away over night. But if you use it every day, you will start to see the results after a month!! It's called Herbal oil for acne scars - click on the Skin Care & Beauty catagory. They also have acne masks!
Q: Ok can someone tell me what can retin a micro gel do to your face what does it get rid of?
i mean what is going on with retin a micro gel 4 percent i think i have, Can it get rid of black heads ance and is there a difference between acne and black heads i mean what is it and can this retin a micro gel get rid of this acne on my face with it coming back on my face if this gel gets rid of it.how well does this retin a micro gel work .ok thank you
A: Well, acne is zits all over, or on one side, or in a cluster, that are red a irritating, and you break out badly, basically. Blackheads are black dots as far as you can see, on your face, most commonly on you: nose, forehead, and cheeks. The cream won't get rid blackheads, for that, if you want a fast fix, do this once a month:

That's what i do for those pesky blackheads. The cream/gel works good for my acne, but as far as i know, you need a prescription for it, by a doctor or most likely a dermatologist. Good luck.
Q: Pls Help! Im using Retin A micro gel 0.1% and it has made my acne 10 times worse than b4. ?
I went to the dermatologist about 3 months ago bcus i started having moderate acne. She started me on Finacia gel and that didn't work. So i just started using retin A micro pump for about 3 weeks now and my skin looks 10 times worse than ever in my life. More acne than ever now. My face is peeling and burning. I dont like to go out anyone i feel to embarassed. Im a sociable person and love to go out with my friends, I was used to getting compliments on my skin until now. Has anyone used this product? How long will these side effects last? Im trying to stick it out i drink about a gallon and 1/2 water daily. Will it get better? what else can i do? Any suggestions?
A: OMG don't put ANYMORE on!!!
I have that stuff and i noticed the same burning and redness and peeling.
Your skin isn't use to the chemicals so you have a chemical burn (will go away)
and I like to believe my skin peels because the product is making my skin ex foliate, a morning shower gets rid of the dead skin cells.
DONT apply any more until the burn goes away or else you'll make it worse!
by using it less often say once every other night you wont irritate your skin as fast and eventually you wont irritate it at all.
Stay out of the sun ^-^
Q: What can I use to help my dryness caused by using erythromycin topical gel and retin-a micro?
I have been using both products for two days and the area around my mouth feels like it is on fire and it is very dry. I don't want to stop using the products, but I want to use a moisturizer, however I am not sure which one I could use and when to use it (i.e. 30 mins after applying erythromycin gel). Please help, my acne is bad and I don't want to have to stop using it-i've paid a lot of money for these products.
A: When using retin-a-micro, I used Neutragena oil-free combination skin moisturizer. It's inexpensive and effective and it won't make you break out. If you apply your medicine at night, you may want to apply the moisturizer in the morning before you apply your makeup.
Q: Which is the BEST to use?? Renova,Retin-A, Retin-A micro(gel or cream) what %???
it is for overall better complexion, I know the stuff is good for everything!!!!! anti aging, etc...... I want it for everything. i'm 32.
Can I use it under make up or only at night??? I do know to stay out of the sun.
I bought .1% highest percentage because I have very UNsensitive skin and used .05% years ago with no bad results , no irritation.
is the micro gel better or the cream? or is it all the same? I have to even out skin tone.
A: In my opinion, you should consult your dermatologist before using these products. Also, be aware of the side effects and how to prevent certain reactions when using these products:

- You definitely shouldn't be in the sun or wax when using these products!
Also, it's important that you take care of your skin on a daily/weekly basis as follows...
~DAILY/WEEKLY SKINCARE~
-You will need: Cleanser, Toner (or Astringent), Cotton Balls, Moisturizer, Mask (or Masque), Extractor (found at most beauty supply stores), and either a facial steamer or hand towel for steaming.
-Morning and night (before going to bed): cleanse, tone, and moisturize. If you have clogged pores, whiteheads and blackheads, then 2-3 times a week include steaming (in this order: cleanse, tone, steam, tone, moisturize).
-Once a week: cleanse, tone, steam, exfoliate, tone, *extractions, tone, mask, tone, moisturize. *IF NEEDED, Don't begin doing extractions until you have been following all of the other steps for at least 2 weeks, so that the steaming will have caused any tough blemishes to begin to soften.
-How to: *
Cleanse -use a small amount and lather with water, apply using circular motions all over face and neck, repeat if you have makeup on
Tone - Squeeze a small amount onto the cottonball and wipe all over face and neck
Steam - for 10-15 minutes, using one of these methods: facial steamer, hold your face 3-5 inches above steaming water, or drape a hot towel over your face (leaving your nostrils and/or mouth exposed)
Exfoliate - follow the same steps as in cleansing, but don't repeat
Extractions - place the hoop (or eye) over the blemish (or blackhead) so that the blemish is in the center of the hoop, apply slight pressure and use rocking and rolling movements all around the blemish (don't use so much pressure that you create indentions or bruises on your skin), if and when the blockage comes out of the pore, wipe away with a cottonball that has been dampened with toner
Mask - apply mask evenly on face and neck, leave for 10-15 minutes, remove by draping a hot towel over your face, then wiping away - if it begins to sting or burn intensly before 10-15 minutes has passed remove and consider using a milder mask
Moisturize - apply a small amount on face an neck and massage until it's absorbed
*In all of these steps, always avoid the eye area.

Q: can someone tell me what they think about retin a micro gel for acne just tell if you 've used and the results?
A: Ive used it and it works wonders on mine. Was great. However made my skin very dry. I could onl;y use it every 2nd or 3rd night, and the other nights I used a moisturizer by Cetaphil.
Q: Acne - Retin-a Micro gel question?
My dermatologist told me to only use it once a week for the first 2 weeks because it can really dry out your skin. However, I rubbed it all over my face last night and today my skin isn't even dry. I've always had tough skin as benzoyl peroxide doesn't really dry my skin out too much either. Anyway, do you think it is ok if i go ahead and use the retin-a micro every night since it is not harming my skin or do you think there is any other reason he would tell me to only use it once a week?
A: Do as your doctor advises.
In addition to the dryness factor (which may hit you later on), your skin becomes extremely sun sensitive, so always use a good quality facial sunblock with a high SPF.
Q: Retin-A Micro Tretinoin Gel .04%???
i just switched from Tretinoin CREAM .025% to Retin-A Micro Tretinoin GEL .04% and it seems like my acne is getting worse, not better.
Is there something wrong? or is this normal?
what is the difference between the creams and the gels?
i know that when u first start out using Retin-a, it is supposed to get worse before it gets better... but is it still supposed to get worse when u change to a gel from a cream and change to a STRONGER prescription??
b/c i have been using it for a week and a half and it has only been getting worse...
oh and also, I have been using Neutrogena SkinClearing Clean Tint during the day so that my acne is not as noticeable. supposedly ,it helps your acne as well as being a tinted concealer. do you think this is okay to be used with Retin-A?????
A: First I would recommend you to stop anything besides retin-a and then see how you do, secondly, it is possible that changing from one form to the other your symptoms gets worse, but typically you should improve as days go on, see your doctor if symtoms persist or worsen, good luck
Q: Retin-A Micro tretinoin gel 0.04%?
Earlier this year and had a really bad sudden breakout. i went from perfect skin to disgusting skin. Now i got all my breakouts under control, havnt had a pimple in months, i just have scars. My dermatologist gave me samples of Retin-a Micro Tretinoin gel 0.04%. Is this going to make me break out? i have normal-oily skin (normal in morning then as the say goes on it gets oily). Anyone have/had the same problem? please give all information.
i also used differin for a few months but havnt seen results like i should and thats why she gave me retin-a. has anyone used differin then retin-a? how did it work for you compared to differin. please give all information.
A: when i was about 12 or 13 years old i used retin a micro in the summer and omg! my face burned burned badly! so never again will i use that. i also used differin and that did not work either. ive used many many more but why mention if its not your question. i have oily skin im not sure how it is in the mornings though but anyway... oh and i also have scaring from acne. i doubt if you havent broke out that you will break out using retin a micro. i dont know why you would think that?
i left all those creams behind that didnt do anything for me! i have cystic acne which is from deep inside. i tried not eating chocolate, fries, or anything with grease. i also tried taking teas and pills to go to the bathroom because ive heard that constipation causes brakes out and none of that worked! i got on accutane 2 years ago and it was glory!
