Q: acne medication?
Do some medications make your acne worse before it gets better?I mean, does your body have to get used to the medication before it becomes effective? I've heard that many medications usually bring the acne to the surface so it can heal it or something, making it look worse before it gets better. Is this true?
A: I started a topical antibiotic two weeks ago and it seemed as though all the pimples came to the surface, so it did seem worse for the first two weeks, now though, it seems to be clearing up. I also am taking oral antibiotics which help with the redness and swelling. Good luck.
Q: Acne medication?
I'm considering using prescribed acne medication (I've tried all sorts of cleansers and eating healthy but I've still got acne). Can anyone recommend which medication to use? Please let me know how well it has worked for you, and if you had any side effects. Do I need to use it long term, or can I go on it until my acne clears up, then go off it again???
A: i've been battling acne since i hit puberty and have used several different types of acne meds. many times, you can just go see your family doctor who will give you basic acne meds. if this doesn't help, they'll refer you to a dermatologist. the times i've been perscribed meds, its always been in three parts, an oral antibiotic such as tetracycline or monocycline, a topical antibiotic - clindamycin, and retin A. these have always worked fairly well for me. right now, i'm on a 5% benzoyl peroxide wash, topical clindamycin and retin A and my skin is clear. the only side effect i've had is very very dry skin for the first week and a half. after that, your skin gets used to it and goes back to almost normal.
i've noticed that with my acne, if i don't use my perscriptions everyday, i get zits. this stuff doesn't cure acne for good, it just clears up your skin, so its more of a long term thing.
if you want to try something not perscription, consider trying proactive, i've used this before too and had great results.
Q: Acne Medication?
what is the best acne medication that actually works for all skin types? and how fast will it show results?
I dont have major acne, but if i dont treat it now, it will get worse. So i need to know what i can use?
oh yeahh and how effective is murad acne complex?
A: Ok, I bet I wasted atleast $200 bucks on facial cleansers and moisturizers that DONT WORK! Right now I'm using SpectroJel, it eliminates clutter of dead skin cells, oil, makeup, and leaves your skin SOOO glowy and smooth and moisturized, no grease! Oh yeah, and afterwards I just use Aveeno which has natural stuff to smooth out my skin.
here's the webbie for SpectroJel:
http://www.spectroskincare.com/
Only around $10, and its good because its basically multipurpose.
And for pimples and acne, use TEA TREE OIL, which you can find in the Body Shop, for around $9, dries up the pimple and heals the acne WOOT WOOT!
Q: What is the best acne medication for a good price, thats cheaper than proactiv?
proactiv is pretty expensive, but I'm looking for a good acne medication that really works.
A: Try Cetaphil Cleanser, it's so natural to the skin that you can feel it just like water, odorless. And also try Panoxyl, start first with the low percentage. Me, I tried already other products that are also expensive but not as that effective. Try the two, I'm sure they will work fine for you. Take Care! Hope I will be a good help. c",
Q: What can I do to avoid my acne medication from bleaching my pillowcases and shirts?
I use a medication with Benzoyl Peroxide for my acne. It has bleached out my pillow cases and some of my t shirts. I'm going to stop using it because I'm getting new sheets. Does the medication have a half life should I be worried about it bleaching my new sheets if I haven't used it for a day?
and will continue to not use it.
I dont have a major problem just about anything works, I need to know what wont bleach things.
A: Ask a pharmacist. They will give you the facts pertaining to your exact medication and it doesn't cost anything.
Q: What is the best oral acne medication to take?
I have adult acne (Inflammatory acne ) and i'v taken the topical meds but they do not work and i am going to the dermotolegest today and i would like to be in the know about the best oral medication out there.
A: Here are just a few tips to treat them so they would disappear and not multiply.
First of all, when you see a small pimple, try to avoid the temptation of popping it. Popping it can cause it to multiply as it can spread the infection underneath the skin and the next morning you'd find dozens of them on your face! If ever you do pop a zit, make sure you wash it with soap and water or some alcohol to avoid the risk of infection.
Second, wash your face morning and night using mild soap or facial wash. You need to keep your face clean but you don't need strong cleansers to do this. Stay with the mild ones so you would avoid irritation.
Third, choose the right toner. Toner is the new astringent as it's a lot gentler to the skin. After washing your face, apply facial toner.
Fourth, exfoliate. Don't exfoliate your skin everyday! Exfoliate every three days and use a gentle scrub. Don't use a product that once used would make your face feel like it's been scrubbed by sandpaper. Your facial skin is really sensitive and it can't handle such beating. Be gentle with it.
Lastly, get enough sleep. Not enough sleep can cause pimple breakouts so make sure you get 8 hours of sleep a night. Sleep is a very important thing as it reduces your stress level. Stress influences acne breakouts so in order to reduce your stress level, get some sleep! When you have plenty of sleep, you don't only get rid of acne but you feel much happier too!
I don't know if any pharmacies stock Acnezine but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product via the offical site http://www.acnezine.com/?aid=853116
It's really worked for me ive been through a number of different products but this is by far the best
Best Of Luck!
Q: What is the best OTC acne medication for an over weight person?
Hi, I am over weight and currently looking for an over the counter acne medication that works. I have tried stridex, clearasil, noxema, and acne free and those didn't work. I tried clean and clear, and that worked for a little while. I also tried Neutrogena, that was the best, but it quit working. Can anyone please tell me something besides these products that you have tried and found sucessful?
A: I used to have acne really bad and know how you feel. One day I was searching for acne cures and crap I found this website http://www.my-info-portal.com/acne/ haha( I bookmarked it lol )
Anyway I got the acne free product deal he recommends and my acne literally disappeared. It was crazy. The product i bought guaranteed it would cure your acne in 3 days or your money back. I think it's only like $25 or something
Anyway, I hope that helps :)

Q: What is the best working acne medication that you have used or that you would highly recommend?
I have tried many different solutions but so far--nada. They will always start to work then just stop working. Is it the acne medication or is it something I'm doing?
A: The best way is to get a prescription from your doctor. She/he can give you benzyl peroxide creme or an oral pill that is right for you.
(thats what I did)
good luck
Q: What is the most effective non-prescription acne medication?
I am a teenager and I get the normal whiteheads and the painful, long-lasting under-skin pimples as well. I have tried many types of acne medication and they have either been useless or made it worse. I have oily skin. My acne is not really severe, but it is still painful and embarrassing. What would be the best thing for me to use? Thank you so much!
A: it's alot to type out so here is a site which explains everything about acne, how to prevent and treat it and also which products would work best.
it also has a few home made remedies.

Q: What kind of acne medication should I try for mild acne? About how much will this cost?
I have a few big zits here and there, a lot of blackheads on my forehead, on my nose, and a few on my chin, plus my skin gets really red. My friend recently got acne medication and it's helped her skin so much, she hardly has any pimples at all. However, I'm worried about his cost. About how much would an acne med. cost that would cure the things I listed above?
A: well i would suggest proactive its like [20 dollars at the mall] but i dunno how serious the problem is. To keep my skin slear i just use mild soap and exfoliate lightly every morning and night. Hope that works. I also heard that Cetaphil is good its like [3-5 dollars]

Q: Should i get prescription acne medication from a dermatologist, or should I stick to my overthecounter cream?
Normally I have mild acne but all of a sudden breaking out like crazy. Should i get prescription medication from the dermatologist or should I stick to my clean and clear advantage acne control kit? I just turned 15.
A: I am also an acne sufferer, and usually my over the counter stuff works pretty well, but when I have a bad flareup that won't go away, my doctor puts me on Minicin or Tetracycline for a few weeks and this helps a great deal! I love Clean and Clear Products myself, and use then regularily. Talk it over with an adult, also, to see what they think. Good luck on getting clear!
